Self portrait made out of nature
So on my second Principles of Design class, my lecturer Ms Lisa gave us an activity which is to draw a mind map of who I am and a self portrait made out of trash and nature I started off on my mind map which took me quite sometime to figure out what to 'map' about. My friend gave me an idea to start off with my favourite colours. So I started off with the colours, and then food came to my mind. Within minutes I found myself occupied with the mind map. After a while the A3 paper was filled with drawings and colourful words. It wasn't so hard after all.

...

Now here comes the other part of the activity.

I walked around campus to look for some 'free stuff' for my self portrait. I found some really nice round edge leaves, big and tiny ones. I also came across some seed that look like green peas, dried leaves, sticks, small tiny white flowers and yellow flowers too. I brought them all back to class and started brainstorming. The first thing that came to my mind was to make me wearing dress out of leaves! I loved that idea. And so the messy work of art began by adding a generous amount of glue on the A3 sized paper. I glued whatever I picked from around the campus on to the paper. All of a sudden I got this idea of having a cat next to the so call 'me'. My cat (Kitty) was the love of my life. <3 My heart shattered after knowing that she would never return to me again. In loving memory of her I decided to make her part of my presentation.  I made her a little dress out of a dried leaf simply because I used to dress her up all the time. Not that she enjoys it but I know that she wouldn't mind.
Presentation was surprisingly fun! It was the first time I wasn't nervous while doing a presentation. Maybe it's because I knew what I was blabbing about. Or maybe a little furry guardian angel stood by me. ;)
